Stephanie's Traveler's Notebook [A place to tap into senses]

Stephanie's Traveler's Notebook [A place to tap into senses]

I met Stephanie (The Girl Who Knows) at our shop few months ago. She walked into the store to explore... and we instantly got in talking about our passion for notebooks (and stationery) and how much we love leather as a material because of the way it feels. She also mentioned to me how she is 1/2 Japanese and how much of her Japanese background has influenced who she has become. I was so intrigued by her and asked her out for lunch:)

My first impression stayed true... and more as I have gotten to know her over many following mini get-togethers. I feel inspired and grounded at the same time when I chat with her and can't be more excited about her newly launched lifestyle website!! (If you are looking for inspiring reads to listen to your gut little bit closer, you should definitely check it out!)

She shared how her Traveler's Notebook 'feels" in her life and how it has been impacting her everyday. I hope you enjoy getting to know her as much as I have been!

1. Tell us  about what you do (life and work):
I’m the Founder + Curator-in-Chief at The Girl Who Knows, an online lifestyle destination for all things sensory and soulful. I’m a writer for the site and manage a handful of contributing editors to the site as well. I love what I do and feel blessed to have found a path that has allowed me to merge my many passions into one.

When I’m not online (which is rare), I plan events and workshops for the brand as well - which is super fun! And when I’m not working (also rare), I love traveling, trying out new restaurants, spending time cuddling with our kitty babies, reading, wandering and relaxing with the ones I love.

2. What is the current configuration of your Traveler's Notebook? What items/accessories do you use with your Traveler's Notebook? Does your Traveler's Notebook have companion tools or items?
I use my Traveler’s Notebook as both a place to capture To-Do lists, notes, inspiration and ideas. It is also my everyday wallet, so comes with me everywhere. I love the supple brown leather that ages with perfection and so delicately and expertly holds all of my precious thoughts and things.

Inside my Traveler’s Notebook is:
My favorite companion item that I’m mildly obsessed with is a gold Delfonics pen, which is the best writing tool I’ve found yet. Also, washi tape. Lots and lots of washi tape. :)

3. How is your Traveler's Notebook incorporated in your everyday adventure? How is it inspiring what you do?
I quite literally have my Traveler’s Notebook with me everywhere I go. It is either in my purse, tote bag or next to my bed. Finding this system has been an absolute life changer for me. I was the kind of girl who had notebooks strewn all over the house. A few thoughts here, a few ideas there. I couldn’t keep my plans together in one place. Though I still love notebooks (and have a number of them laying around), I don’t find myself reaching for them anymore.

I’ve become more productive in my work, having my ideas and action lists all in one place. And I love getting comments and questions about it whenever I pull out my “wallet” to pay at the store. In fact, I’ve received more compliments (and by extension, new blog readers) than I can count. :)

My Traveler’s Notebook is sophisticated, textural, beautiful, smells divine (ahhh, new leather) and feels perfect in my hands. I’m all about engaging with the senses and for me, this isn’t just a tool, it’s a part of my life that allows me to tap into my senses and feel more grounded and present.

4. Aside from Traveler's Notebook..., what are you currently obsessed about?

5. Can you share your favorite quote?
"Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.” ~Rumi

This is so beautiful! My friend is traveling to France and I’m making her a smash book to take with her and i love the idea of adding more pages for her to add about her travels and that zip pouch would be so perfect! Did you buy the notebook somewhere or did you make it?

LOVE this! I recently had my car, and all my belonging in it including my travel journal stolen and I’ve been looking for a replacement! These are beautiful and functional! Hoping to invest in one soon!
