HIKOKI, made in Yakushima

HIKOKI is a handmade wooden toy full of personality and character. It is designed and made by Mr. Togawa, a wood artist and owner of the FLOWERS studio Yakushima, Japan, an island south of Kagoshima prefecture.

HIKOKI (it means "airplane" in Japanese) comes with a hand carved airplane body and a passenger with a big smile. Mr. Togawa uses unique wood grains as a part of the distinct features on these planes and no two airplanes are the same!

HIKOKI has more intersecting parts than DENSYA and KURUMA and you can really see the amazing craftsmanship of Togawa-san of Flowers Studio... The passenger is positioned slightly angled so it looks like the airplane is in the motion even it sits still The clever design lets the passenger "bubble" as airplane flies through the sky! The propeller can be turned for an additional play.

Its absolutely adorable look and feel will happily lead to many imaginative stories for children to play with.

With so many plastic options in the market, these unique wooden toys will surely stand out as something children can hold onto for a long time... and pass it on to next generations making HIKOKI the future of heirloom.
